The Austin Courts of Appeals

The Austin appellate courts also include the state's two courts of last resort, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

The scope of this blog, however, is currently limited to the Third Court of Appeals, sitting in Austin, one of the fourteen intermediate courts of appeals, which, unlike the two highest courts, hear both civil and criminal appeals and original proceedings from civil and criminal cases in the trial courts.
